The research on the importance of Vitamin D is overwhelming. Many, many people are deficient and need to supplement Vitamin D because we do not spend enough time outside anymore. I simply do not understand the standard way of supplementing which 50,000IU once a week. I prefer to use smaller, more frequent dosing for better uptake and utilization. To increase Vitamin D levels, 10,000IU per day is best and for maintenance, 5,000IU per day is usually sufficient.
